Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Job Description

Pinnacera is at an inflection point. We are integrating established precision-manufacturing businesses into one stronger platform while building the commercial capabilities required for the next stage of growth. The foundation of our Commercial Engine is underway—including strategic account growth, focused new-account development, cross-selling, ConversionWorks account activation and demand generation, HubSpot, and a more disciplined approach to pipeline, customer development, and market selection. The system is intentionally not finished. The next Commercial Leader will have meaningful latitude to challenge and improve the strategy, shape the organization and talent, strengthen the tools and operating model, and translate this foundation into significant profitable organic growth. This is an opportunity to build something that will materially influence the future value and trajectory of Pinnacera. About the job Pinnacera Precision is seeking an accomplished commercial executive—or an exceptional emerging leader ready for broader enterprise responsibility—to lead Sales and Marketing and turn an initial growth strategy into a disciplined, scalable, and repeatable commercial engine. This leader will assume day-to-day ownership of the commercial system from the President & CEO, improve the framework already underway, build the team and capabilities required to execute it, and help roughly double the company over the next five years through profitable organic growth. The Vice President, Sales & Marketing must be capable of operating credibly in the boardroom, in the plant, in a pipeline review, and across the table from an OEM or Tier customer. The successful leader will combine strategic market judgment, hands-on leadership, disciplined operating consistency, and the ability to build a winning culture across multiple legacy businesses and sites. The Vice President, Sales & Marketing will join a driven, candid, and highly engaged Senior Leadership Team that is building Pinnacera into one integrated company. Pinnacera runs on EOS, and this leader will be expected to operate with transparency, bring issues forward early, own measurable commitments, collaborate across functions, and translate strategy into disciplined quarterly and weekly execution. Key Responsibilities Growth Strategy & Commercial Performance
  • Translate Pinnacera's growth strategy into annual and quarterly commercial plans, priorities, resource allocations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Own the organic growth agenda, delivering revenue, gross profit, pipeline, win rate, retention, and account expansion objectives.
  • Continuously refine market focus, prioritizing core customers and industries, validating new growth opportunities, and reallocating resources away from low-value pursuits.
  • Balance growth objectives with operational capacity, technical capabilities, customer requirements, working capital, and margin expectations to ensure profitable execution.
  • Provide the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, Board, and investors with clear, fact-based reporting on performance, risks, opportunities, and corrective actions. Strategic Account Growth & Customer Retention
  • Establish a disciplined strategic account management process including segmentation, account planning, revenue footprint analysis, executive relationship mapping, growth strategies, and sponsorship programs.
  • Expand customer revenue footprint through cross-selling, new programs, additional plants, divisions, platforms, product families, and adjacent solutions.
  • Lead executive customer engagement and business reviews that strengthen partnerships, uncover opportunities, and proactively identify risks.
  • Implement a cross-functional customer retention and at-risk account management process involving Sales, Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer while maintaining enterprise accountability for profitable growth and execution. New Business Development, Markets & Channels
  • Build and scale a targeted account acquisition engine focused on qualified OEM, Tier, distributor, and strategic market opportunities.
  • Establish disciplined opportunity qualification and go/no-go decision frameworks that optimize resource investment and win rates.
  • Validate and pursue growth opportunities in strategically attractive markets where Pinnacera has a clear right to win based on capabilities, capacity, customer value, and economic returns.
  • Develop and manage an effective channel strategy incorporating direct sales, manufacturers' representatives, distributors, referral partners, and strategic alliances.
  • Build actionable market intelligence on customers, competitors, applications, technology trends, reshoring initiatives, and emerging demand patterns. Sales Leadership & Commercial Excellence
  • Lead Pinnacera's integrated commercial organization, including Sales, Account Management, Inside Sales / Technical Support, Marketing, Customer Service and Commercial Operations, with responsibility for external sales representatives and channel partners.
  • Establish clear roles, territories, account ownership, performance expectations, and cross-functional handoffs.
  • Drive consistent sales management processes including opportunity reviews, pipeline management, account planning, forecasting, and annual commercial planning.
  • Improve qualification, value selling, pursuit strategy, negotiation, quote conversion, opportunity progression, and closing effectiveness.
  • Create coaching, onboarding, enablement, playbooks, and performance management systems that improve individual and team productivity.
  • Maintain a strong field presence, personally supporting strategic accounts, critical pursuits, customer escalations, negotiations, and executive relationships. Marketing, Demand Generation & Market Positioning
  • Own an integrated B2B industrial marketing strategy supporting account growth, new business acquisition, channel development, and market expansion.
  • Define and consistently communicate Pinnacera's value proposition, market positioning, technical capabilities, and customer outcomes.
  • Develop targeted campaigns, digital marketing, account-based programs, content strategies, events, and sales enablement initiatives that generate qualified pipeline and revenue.
  • Align Sales and Marketing around shared target accounts, funnel metrics, lead management, service-level expectations, and revenue objectives.
  • Measure marketing success through contribution to engagement, pipeline creation, revenue growth, customer expansion, and market insights. Commercial Operations, CRM, Data & AI
  • Own HubSpot as the commercial system of record, ensuring adoption, data integrity, forecast accuracy, visibility, and productivity.
  • Define and enforce CRM standards for customer data, pipeline management, opportunity tracking, buyer milestones, lead routing, forecasting, and performance reporting.
  • Develop trusted dashboards and analytics covering pipeline health, forecasting, conversions, account growth, retention, marketing effectiveness, win/loss analysis, and commercial productivity.
  • Leverage automation and AI to improve prospecting, account research, meeting preparation, forecasting, coaching, opportunity prioritization, and risk identification.
  • Partner with Finance and SLT members to establish performance metrics, incentive structures, targets, and fact-based decision-making processes. Pricing, Profitability & Commercial Decision Making
  • Partner with Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Estimating to strengthen pricing strategy, quotation quality, margin management, and deal governance.
  • Ensure growth initiatives are evaluated based on profitable revenue, gross profit contribution, customer lifetime value, and strategic importance.
  • Improve commercial understanding of cost-to-serve, profitability drivers, pricing levers, customer economics, and risk management.
  • Lead value-based customer negotiations supported by data-driven preparation, clear value propositions, and appropriate executive involvement. Cross-Functional Execution
  • Ensure customer commitments are realistic, documented, and effectively transitioned into launch and production environments.
  • Drive collaboration across Sales, Engineering, Estimating, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service to improve pursuit execution and customer outcomes.
  • Capture customer insights, opportunities, risks, and improvement opportunities and establish clear ownership for follow-through.
  • Resolve customer issues proactively while strengthening customer loyalty, reputation, retention, and future growth opportunities. Required Experience and Capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent advanced development is valued but not required.
  • Significant progressive leadership experience across sales, marketing, business development, commercial operations, and/or general management, with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and drive increasing levels of responsibility and business impact.
  • Proven track record of delivering profitable organic growth and improving commercial performance within industrial manufacturing, engineered products, precision manufacturing, industrial distribution, automotive/off-highway, industrial automation, aerospace and defense, medical device, or other complex B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling commercial capabilities, including go-to-market strategy, strategic account management, demand generation, sales process excellence, CRM utilization, forecasting, pipeline management, customer retention, and performance management systems.
  • Deep experience leading complex OEM, Tier, and distribution relationships involving technical and value-based selling, engineered applications, long sales cycles, quoting, pricing, negotiation, quality requirements, and cross-functional execution.
  • Strong command of strategic account growth, new business development, account segmentation, cross-selling, market expansion, customer retention, pricing strategy, value proposition development, forecasting, and revenue growth execution.
  • Ability to lead Sales and Marketing as an integrated revenue engine, aligning positioning, demand generation, account-based marketing, sales enablement, pipeline conversion, and customer growth strategies.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including expertise in revenue growth, gross profit improvement, pricing, margin management, cost-to-serve analysis, resource allocation, budgeting, forecasting, and return-on-investment decision making.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging CRM and commercial technology platforms to drive adoption, data quality, reporting, forecasting, automation, and AI-enabled productivity.
Experience with HubSpot or comparable enterprise CRM systems preferred.
