! An El Pollo Loco cashier provides friendly, fast service by greeting guests, managing POS transactions, and using suggestive selling. They ensure order accuracy for walk-in and drive-thru customers, maintain a clean restaurant, and handle cash, credit card, and digital payments. Key requirements include a, food handler card, ability to stand for long periods, and strong communication skills. Workstream +3

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Customer Service:

Greeting guests with a smile, taking orders, and resolving concerns promptly.

Order Processing:

Operating the POS system, processing payments, and managing drive-thru, walk-in, and mobile orders.

Sales Enhancement:

Suggestive selling and upselling items to enhance the guest experience.

Cash Handling:

Counting registers at the start/end of shifts and maintaining accurate cash records.

Cleanliness & Maintenance:

Cleaning and sanitizing the front counter, dining area, and beverage station.

Team Support:

Assisting with food preparation or assembly as needed.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements:

Age/Experience:

Minimum age of 18 years (often), with no experience required, though previous customer service is preferred.

Certifications:

California Food Handler Card (or local equivalent) is required.

Physical:

Must be able to stand/walk for long periods, lift up to 25-55 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills:

Ability to speak and read English is required (second language is a plus).

Work Environment:

Cashiers often work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment during peak times, necessitating strong multitasking skills.
