Job Description
Overview The Taco Spot is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will provide outstanding customer service, accurately process orders and payments, and help create a welcoming dining experience. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working with people. Duties Greet every guest with a positive and friendly attitude. Accurately take customer orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Process cash, credit card, and digital payments. Answer customer questions about the menu, ingredients, and daily specials. Ensure orders are entered correctly and communicate clearly with the kitchen staff. Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked front counter area. Refill beverages, napkins, condiments, utensils, and other guest supplies as needed. Assist with packaging takeout and delivery orders. Verify order accuracy before handing food to guests or delivery drivers. Follow food safety, sanitation, and company policies. Assist with opening and closing duties, including counting the cash drawer. Help maintain a clean dining area and support teammates during busy periods. Provide excellent customer service by resolving guest concerns professionally. Experience Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are key! Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash register operations is advantageous. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and balancing cash drawers at shift end.
