Job Description

Overview We are looking for a dependable, hardworking team member to join our can redemption center. This is a hands-on position that combines customer service, sorting and counting beverage containers, and preparing materials for distributor pickup. Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Inspect containers to verify they have the required Iowa 5-cent redemption stamp and are eligible for redemption. Accurately count and/or estimate the number of redeemable containers customers bring in, including partially filled bags or loads where an exact count is not available. Calculate and pay customers accurately for their redeemed containers. Sort containers into designated bags or areas according to type. Assist with preparing the facility for scheduled distributor pickups. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. Provide friendly, helpful service to customers and answer basic questions about the redemption process. What we're looking for Dependable and responsible with good attendance. Friendly and comfortable interacting with customers. Able to work accurately with numbers and money. Strong attention to detail. Comfortable working on your feet and performing repetitive, hands-on tasks. Able to work independently and follow established procedures. Previous customer service, cash-handling, retail, warehouse, or recycling experience is helpful but not required. We will train the right person. This is an active position in a small, family-owned business. The right person will be someone who takes pride in doing accurate work, treats customers well, and can be trusted to handle responsibilities independently.
Pay:
$14.00 per hour Expected hours: 6.0 - 35.0 per week
