Duties Operate cash registers efficiently, accurately processing retail sales transactions and handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos. Maintain an organized checkout area by stocking supplies and ensuring the cash drawer is balanced at the end of each shift. Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities while enhancing the customer experience. Assist with merchandising efforts by organizing shelves, restocking items, and ensuring product displays are attractive and inviting. Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about store hours, product availability, or special promotions. Support inventory management through stocking tasks and participating in periodic stock counts to ensure accurate inventory levels. Experience Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus. Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is essential for smooth transaction processing. Strong basic math skills for accurate cash handling and change calculation. Demonstrated excellent communication skills to engage customers effectively and handle inquiries politely. Supervising experience or leadership roles in retail settings are advantageous for growth opportunities within the team. Knowledge of retail store product details and merchandising techniques helps enhance the shopping environment.
