ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Services as a representative of the City of South Bend, demonstrating a positive attitude and progressive actions through the display of professionalism, courtesy, and appropriate interactions with other employees and guests. Perform various tasks at the admission window, including greeting and assisting guests, collecting payments, maintaining records of patrons entering the facility, and checking in season pass holders. Always provide a high level of service to guests and program participants. Assists guests with ice skate rental needs by handing out skates, cleaning the equipment upon return, and ensuring skates are returned to their proper location. Operate registration software to register guests, accept payments, and give appropriate change. Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and guests. Assist with set-up and take-down of daily operations, including but not limited to, placement of firepits, stations, skate signage, skate tags, etc. Maintain a neat and clean appearance while following all uniform requirements. Keep a clean and organized workspace by picking up trash, checking restrooms, sweeping floors, wiping down windows, and shoveling snow, etc. Inspect the facility and equipment, reporting any unsafe conditions or damaged equipment to the Supervisor on duty or to the Aquatics and Ice Manager. This includes identifying any unsafe or potentially dangerous conditions on the ice. Be physically and mentally prepared to respond to emergencies and administer First Aid and CPR effectively. Contact emergency medical personnel in the case of a serious injury and complete all necessary paperwork for incidents. Assist maintenance personnel with situations concerning ice conditions or shovel snow. Attending all in-service training, staff meetings, and pre-season training as scheduled.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY
Experience in cash handling, including knowledge of basic addition and subtraction preferred. Ability to learn on the job.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 16 years of age Requires interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds Must be able to work various shifts which include evenings, weekends and holidays.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License required American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification required. (Training will be provided to any individual not certified.)

The employee may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Tasks may involve extended periods at a keyboard or work station.

This work is performed in a building most of the time but can be exposed to various weather conditions.
SCHEDULE
Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 7:45pm, Fridays 3:30pm to 9:45pm, Saturdays 9:30am to 9:45pm, Sundays 11:30am to 7:45pm May include times before opening or after closing for private rentals
