You'll greet customers, process transactions accurately, answer questions, keep the front-of-house area clean and organized, and work closely with the rest of the café team to keep service running smoothly. What You'll Do Create a Great Customer Experience Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner Provide fast, accurate, and courteous service Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently Answer basic questions about menu items, prices, and café offerings Assist customers with questions or concerns and involve leadership when needed Thank customers and help create a positive experience from start to finish Build positive relationships with regular customers Maintain a professional, friendly, and positive attitude throughout the shift Handle Transactions Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately Process cash, credit/debit cards, and other approved forms of payment Provide customers with accurate change and receipts Follow APEX procedures for handling cash and transactions Maintain an accurate cash drawer Report transaction or register issues to leadership Follow all procedures related to cash handling and security Keep the Café Looking Great Your workspace is part of the customer experience! Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and stocked Wipe down counters and customer-facing surfaces throughout the day Help maintain a clean and welcoming front-of-house area Restock napkins, utensils, condiments, beverages, and other supplies Help keep dining and service areas neat and ready for customers Practice "clean as you go" throughout the shift Support Your Team At APEX, we're all part of the same team. Communicate with cooks, food service employees, managers, and other team members Help with basic food service or café tasks when needed Assist with opening and closing duties Help restock products and supplies Support catering, special events, or other café activities when needed Jump in and help wherever you're needed to keep the café running smoothly Follow Food Safety & Workplace Standards Even though you're primarily working at the front of the café, food safety and cleanliness are everyone's responsibility. Follow APEX food safety and sanitation procedures Follow proper handwashing and personal hygiene requirements Maintain a clean and sanitary work area Follow all workplace safety procedures Communicate any safety, sanitation, equipment, or customer concerns to leadership What We're Looking For You don't need years of cashier experience to be successful in this role. We're looking for someone with a great attitude who enjoys helping people and being part of a team.
