Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, ensuring a positive shopping experience. A successful Cashier will also assist in maintaining the store's appearance and inventory levels. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash management procedures are followed. Communicate with customers in a friendly manner, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise. Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to maintain an appealing store layout. Conduct product demonstrations as needed to promote sales and enhance customer engagement. Supervise junior staff members during shifts, providing guidance and support as necessary. Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and throughout the store. Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate pricing and change distribution. Requirements Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required. Strong basic math skills to handle transactions accurately. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service. Familiarity with retail math concepts is a plus. Ability to demonstrate products effectively to customers when required. Proficient phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone. A positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
