Cashier AMVETS National Service Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting American veterans. AMVETS Thrift Store is currently seeking a positive, motivated Cashier to join our store team. As a Cashier, you'll be the face of the store for many of our customers — processing transactions accurately, providing friendly and efficient service, and helping keep the checkout area clean and organized. Who We're Looking For Enjoys interacting with customers and creating a positive shopping experience Handles cash and transactions accurately and responsibly Stays friendly, patient, and efficient during busy periods Comfortable multitasking between ringing up sales, answering questions, and light store upkeep Dependable, punctual, and ready to work as part of a team Willing to learn and take direction Physical Requirements Ability to operate a cash register and point-of-sale equipment Ability to communicate effectively with associates and guests Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete transactions and necessary documentation Ability to stand for extended periods and remain active for the duration of a shift Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including the selling floor and stock area as needed Ability to move or handle merchandise, generally weighing 0-50 pounds Hours and Compensation This is a full-time position.
