Duties Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and mobile payments. Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked and displayed. Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities. Handle cash drawer responsibilities with precision, balancing registers at shift end and managing cash handling procedures. Assist in merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product knowledge is up-to-date for effective customer assistance. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Support store operations through supervising experience by mentoring new team members and ensuring adherence to company policies. Engage in product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits of various items. Participate in inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory counts. Experience Previous experience working in retail sales or grocery store environments is highly preferred. Proven proficiency with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math calculations. Supervising experience or leadership roles within retail settings are advantageous. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse customer needs. Strong communication skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette are essential for success in this role. Familiarity with merchandising, product demos, upselling techniques, and retail store product knowledge will help you excel. Experience handling cash drawers accurately and performing basic math calculations confidently ensures smooth transactions.
