Chief, Applied Clinical Informatics Branch
The National Library of Medicine (NLM), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is seeking an accomplished scientific and technical leader to serve as Chief of the Applied Clinical Informatics Branch (ACIB) within the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications (LHNCBC). The ACIB Chief will provide strategic, scientific, and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary program focused on advancing the use of clinical and real-world data for biomedical research and healthcare. The Branch develops, evaluates, and translates innovative clinical informatics approaches that improve the accessibility, interoperability, quality, and utility of electronic health information across research and healthcare environments. The Chief will lead approximately 30 highly skilled Federal staff and contractors and oversee an annual budget of approximately $9 million. The position is responsible for establishing the Branch's scientific and technical direction, developing and evaluating programs, assessing biomedical and informatics products, identifying emerging technologies and research opportunities, and translating research innovations into sustainable real-world solutions.
