Yet many of the containers and wrappers surrounding our food are made with toxic chemicals, including BPA. These harmful chemicals can migrate into our food and our bodies. CALPIRG is working to pass a state law that would ban toxic chemicals from all food packaging. We are hiring canvassers and field managers in our Santa Cruz office to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.

As a canvasser you will:

Pay:

Canvassing staff earn a base pay of $18.00 per hour, plus can earn 20% of what they raise over our minimum fundraising standard, giving staff the opportunity to earn more than $20 per hour. Staff never earn less than minimum wage for the hours that they work. Depending on performance and location, canvassers earn an average of between $18 to $24 per hour.
