We are a children's theater company, based in Greenwich, CT, dedicated to creating high-quality, engaging productions for young performers and their families. Our programs emphasize creativity, collaboration, and confidence-building in a supportive environment. A key part of our success is our extensive costume inventory, which allows us to costume productions efficiently while maintaining a high visual standard. Our fall season includes Seussical Kids and Winnie the Pooh.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Costume Coordinator to manage and maintain our costume inventory and support the costuming of our fall theater productions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys systems, organization, and working behind the scenes to bring productions to life. The Costume Coordinator will work closely with our Program Director to primarily utilize our existing costume stock, while also identifying and sourcing additional pieces as needed to bring our productions to life.
Location:
Costume storage unit in Port Chester, NY, with collaboration alongside the OAA staff in Greenwich, CT as needed. Storage unit is about a 10 minute drive from the rehearsal space in Greenwich. Performances take place at Round Hill Community Church in Greenwich.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize the StageStock inventory system to accurately track, label, and manage costume pieces in our storage unit. Work closely with the Program Director to pull costumes for productions, prioritizing the use of existing inventory Prepare costumes for rehearsals and performances (sorting, labeling, minor alternations) Assist with returns, restocking, and post-show organization Launder costumes after each production before returning to storage.
Qualifications:
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Comfortable working in a storage environment and moving storage boxes and bins Interest or background in theater, costumes, or wardrobe management preferred Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with production staff Experience with inventory systems (StageStock experience a plus, but not required).
Schedule & Commitment:
Seasonal role aligned with fall production schedule of September 1-November 21, 2026. Flexible hours to manage storage and work with staff on costuming between September 1 -November 10. Exact schedule TBD upon job offer. Tech days require longer periods of time: November 11, 12, 13, 14. Approximate number of hours needed is 55 and total salary is $2,500.
Additional Notes:
This role is critical to the smooth operation of our productions. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating order and supporting a creative team in a fast-paced environment. There is potential for this position to grow into a full-time role if the relationship is a strong fit following the fall season.
