The Spare Parts Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency by developing and managing preventative maintenance (PM) programs and maintaining optimal spare parts inventory. This position coordinates maintenance schedules, tracks PM performance, and ensures timely procurement and availability of spare parts to reduce downtime and support production goals.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement preventive maintenance (PM) programs to ensure optimal performance of equipment. Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and upgrades. Track the time taken to complete PMs and work orders; monitor backlog and assign work orders based on priority and criticality. Collaborate with maintenance technicians to ensure timely execution of scheduled tasks. Coordinate with other departments (production, engineering, procurement) to improve processes and reduce equipment downtime. Utilize a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track, assign, and manage work orders and PM tasks. Maintain a well-organized, accurate inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring critical spares are available. Monitor stock levels and reorder parts as necessary to avoid shortages. Track and manage expenses related to spare parts and services, ensuring adherence to budget. Source and evaluate cost-effective suppliers, compare quotes, generate purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery. Continuously improve spare parts management practices to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance costs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with a minimum or 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance planning, or combination of equivalent education and experience. Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner, Spare Parts Coordinator, or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong working knowledge of CMMS software and maintenance planning tools (e.g., SAP, Maximo, Fiix). Familiarity with industrial maintenance systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); experience with ERP systems a plus. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly required to walk, stand, and inspect equipment in an industrial setting. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for up to 12 hours per day.
Preferred Qualification:
Certification in Industrial Maintenance or Project Management.
