Job Summary The Stock Associate helps to control and maintain inventory in the in the Parts department. This position is suited for a person who is detailed orientated with a strong work ethic.
Essential Functions:
Pulls all orders for standard customer stock orders, special orders, and the demands of the main counter Collect all payments (cash, checks, credit cards, etc.) from drivers and inspect any returns for damage. Follows and adheres to all safety rules including the handling of hazardous materials. Gathers parts for delivery drivers. Verifies payments with invoices received. Completes paperwork for shipping companies used such as Fed Ex or Cargo Co. Prepares packages for shipping company. Maintains proper stock inventory. Maintains stock items, assuring that they are in a clean and orderly condition. May direct all drivers on their delivery routes. May operate a fork-lift. May take mandatory tests to keep store with certification status. May deliver parts from stock to vendors, mechanics, and technicians. May answers phone calls, providing price quotes, handling telephone orders and other information. May perform other duties as requested.
Required Education & Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record which shall be reviewed by Human Resources as needed. Dealership experience helpful. May require Forklift Certification depending on dealership May require Hazmat Certification depending on dealership May be required to obtain
Dealership Brand Certifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Attention to detail. Basic knowledge of ability to use Internet software and Inventory software. Communicates effectively by phone, in person, and in writing. Organizes work effectively, prioritizes objectives, and exercises independent judgment. Ability to work effectively with data systems, Microsoft Office software, order processing systems and inventory software and on a computer. Intermediate language capabilities such as reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Basic math capabilities such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and computing rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Intermediate reasoning capabilities such as applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand and walk, and occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, smell, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Employee must be able to use different type of equipment and/or tools: computers, tire pressure gauge, flashlights, etc. 90% of the time the employee is operating mechanical equipment or office equipment. The employee is expected to make quick decisions, communicate with visitors or customers, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity objectives and/or sales quota.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Other:
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Due to the critical nature of the automotive industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the dealership. In addition, attendance at all schedule training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facility.
