Job Summary The Parts Runner / Parts Department Assistant supports the service technicians and counter sales staff by managing inventory, maintaining shop cleanliness, and safely transporting auto parts. This entry-level role ensures a smooth daily workflow by keeping the parts department organized and delivering required items directly to technicians or external wholesale clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Deliver parts directly to service technicians in the shop to maximize workflow. Pick up and transport parts from local warehouses, dealerships, and vendors. Receive incoming freight , verify packing slips for accuracy, and unpack inventory. Stock and label shelves neatly according to the established inventory grid system. Process core returns and warranty parts by crating, tagging, and prepping them for shipment. Maintain cleanliness by sweeping floors, dusting bins, and safely disposing of boxes and trash. Operate company vehicles safely and strictly adhere to all regional traffic laws. Assist other departments when shorthanded by moving service vehicles or running office errands.
Qualifications and Requirements License:
Valid Driver's License with a clean, insurable driving record.
Experience:
No prior experience required; hands-on warehouse or automotive shop exposure is a plus.
Skills:
Basic computer literacy and comfort navigating GPS mapping apps.
Communication:
Clear verbal skills to interact professionally with technicians and vendors. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk on hard concrete floors for extended periods. Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds frequently. Willingness to work in varying weather conditions during loading, unloading, and transit.
