Premier Fire Apparatus, Inc. is seeking an organized and motivated Parts Specialist to support our fire and emergency apparatus Service Department. This position works directly with technicians, Service Managers, vendors, and customers to ensure the correct parts are identified, ordered, tracked, received, and properly assigned to each repair. Because we work on emergency vehicles, accuracy, communication, and urgency are critical. Previous fire apparatus experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with automotive, heavy-truck, fleet, heavy-equipment, or similar parts experience are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Assist technicians with identifying and sourcing repair parts. Research components using VINs, serial numbers, OEM catalogs, diagrams, manuals, and vendor resources. Order parts from OEMs, manufacturers, distributors, and local suppliers. Obtain and compare pricing, availability, lead times, and shipping options. Track open orders, backorders, and expected delivery dates through completion. Give priority to parts needed for out-of-service emergency apparatus . Locate alternative sources for obsolete, discontinued, or difficult-to-find components. Communicate backorders, delays, substitutions, and significant pricing changes to technicians and Service Managers. Receive shipments and verify part numbers, quantities, and condition. Label and stage received parts for the appropriate technician and Service Order. Maintain accurate and organized parts inventory. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory. Ensure purchased and stocked parts are properly assigned and billed to the correct Service Order. Process returns, warranty parts, cores, and vendor credits. Assist customers with parts inquiries and over-the-counter sales when needed. Maintain organized parts, receiving, staging, and storage areas. Parts & Equipment Our facilities service a wide variety of fire and emergency apparatus.

Parts may include components for:

Fire pumps, valves, plumbing, and pump controls Emergency lighting, sirens, and electrical systems Aerial hydraulic and electrical systems Chassis, drivetrain, brakes, steering, and suspension PTOs, generators, and hydraulic systems Water tanks and plumbing Compartment doors and hardware Scene lighting and light towers Cab and body components Seating and occupant restraints Hose reels and specialty fire-service equipment The Parts Specialist is not expected to diagnose apparatus failures but must be able to work with technicians and vendors to accurately identify the components needed to complete repairs. Qualifications Automotive, heavy-truck, fleet, heavy-equipment, industrial, or related parts experience preferred. Fire apparatus or emergency-vehicle experience is a plus. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify common vehicle components. Ability to read parts diagrams, exploded views, and technical documentation. Strong computer and data-entry skills. Experience with electronic parts catalogs and vendor portals preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to manage multiple parts requests and changing priorities. Ability to research unfamiliar and hard-to-find components. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the Service Department. Valid driver's license. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the entire parts process , not simply someone who places orders. The successful candidate will follow a parts request from the technician's initial need through identification, purchasing, tracking, receiving, staging, and final assignment to the Service Order. When a fire apparatus is out of service, this position is expected to actively pursue the required parts and communicate any issues that could delay the repair. Our customers depend on these vehicles to respond to emergencies, and the Parts Department directly affects how quickly we can return an apparatus to service. Our Standard The correct part.
