POSITION SUMMARY

The Parts and Service Sales Representative develops and maintains customer relationships within an assigned territory to grow Goodfellow Corporation's parts and service business. This position visits customer locations, identifies equipment and operational needs, recommends appropriate parts and service solutions, and provides responsive follow-up and support. The role serves as an important connection between customers and Goodfellow's Parts, Service, Sales, and operational teams. The Parts and Service Sales Representative is expected to grow business with existing customers, develop new accounts, identify opportunities with owners of competitive equipment, and support all product lines carried by the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular in-person visits, phone communication, and timely follow-up. Identify customer parts and service needs and recommend solutions that provide value and support customer operations. Promote and sell Goodfellow parts and service solutions across all product lines carried by the organization. Develop additional business with existing customers while actively pursuing new customers and owners of competitive equipment. Manage an assigned sales territory and maintain consistent customer contact based on account needs and business opportunities. Identify sales opportunities, customer needs, and potential service requirements during customer visits and communicate those opportunities to the appropriate Goodfellow team members. Coordinate with Parts, Service, Sales, and branch leadership to develop quotes, resolve customer needs, and deliver appropriate solutions. Follow up promptly on customer requests, quotes, orders, service needs, and open issues. Provide sound product and service guidance while recognizing when technical or operational concerns should be escalated to the appropriate department manager. Develop relationships with key accounts and work to strengthen customer loyalty and long-term business partnerships. Maintain awareness of customer equipment, business activity, and competitive equipment within the assigned territory to identify future opportunities. Maintain accurate customer, sales activity, opportunity, and follow-up information in company systems as required. Communicate customer feedback, concerns, and market information to appropriate branch and company leadership. Prioritize customer needs effectively, including urgent requests and high-pressure situations. Support branch sales, customer retention, and revenue growth goals through consistent territory development and account management. Represent Goodfellow Corporation professionally at customer locations and in all customer interactions. Assist with parts delivery when necessary to support customer needs and branch operations. Perform other related sales and customer-support activities as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not typically have direct supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily works in the field and from a company vehicle while traveling throughout an assigned territory. Work may also take place in customer offices, shops, construction or industrial sites, and sand and gravel or aggregate operations where dust, dirt, uneven surfaces, moving equipment, and elevated noise levels may be present. Required personal protective equipment must be worn when entering customer or Goodfellow work areas where PPE is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to perform the physical requirements necessary to travel to customer locations and support parts and service sales activities. Frequently enter and exit a company vehicle and travel throughout the assigned territory. Walk and stand at customer and industrial locations, including outdoor and uneven work areas. Safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when assisting with parts delivery or customer support. Use computers, phones, and other standard business equipment for customer communication and sales activity. TRAVEL Regular local and regional travel within the assigned sales territory is required. Travel requirements will vary based on territory size, customer locations, and business needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships. Ability to work independently, manage an assigned territory, and maintain a high level of motivation with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize customer needs and respond effectively in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations. Working knowledge of standard computer applications and the ability to learn company database, customer, and online parts systems. Ability to use Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar business applications. Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements for operation of a company vehicle.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous business-to-business sales experience. Previous outside sales, territory sales, parts sales, service sales, or account management experience. Basic knowledge of crushing, screening, aggregate, heavy equipment, or related industrial equipment. Previous experience with dealership, distributor, parts, or service operations. Experience using customer relationship management, database, or online parts-book systems.

The Parts and Service Sales Representative is expected to operate company vehicles safely, use required personal protective equipment, follow site-specific safety rules, report unsafe conditions or incidents, and conduct customer visits in a manner that protects employees, customers, and company property.
