This position is responsible for assisting prospective residents, conducting apartment tours, following up with leads, processing applications, and supporting the leasing and occupancy goals of the community. We are looking for a personable and dependable professional who enjoys working with people and providing excellent customer service. Previous apartment leasing experience is helpful, but it is not required. Training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, communication skills, and ability to learn. Responsibilities Leasing & Prospect Relations Welcome prospective residents and provide information about available apartment homes and community amenities. Conduct property and apartment tours based on prospective residents' needs and preferences. Identify qualified prospects and explain rental options, pricing, availability, and application requirements. Follow up with prospective residents by phone, email, and other communication channels. Maintain accurate records of leads, tours, applications, and leasing activity. Assist prospective residents throughout the application and leasing process. Work toward community occupancy and leasing goals. Resident Service Provide professional and responsive service to current and prospective residents. Respond to questions and requests in a timely manner. Build positive relationships with residents and prospective residents. Address routine concerns and direct maintenance or property-related issues to the appropriate team member. Property & Office Support Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional leasing office. Walk the property and available apartment homes to ensure they are properly presented. Coordinate with maintenance and other property staff regarding apartment readiness. Assist with resident events, community activities, and marketing efforts when needed. Complete general administrative and office duties related to leasing operations.
Qualifications Required:
Strong customer service and communication skills. Professional and personable approach when working with residents and prospective residents. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Ability to learn property management and leasing software. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic. Ability to work one weekend day and occasional holidays.
Experience:
Previous apartment or leasing experience is preferred but not required. Customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, or similar experience is highly relevant. Paid training is provided for qualified candidates without previous leasing experience. Additional language skills are a plus. Compensation & Benefits $22.10 - $24.26 per hour , based on experience and qualifications Leasing commissions and performance-based bonuses Health insurance Paid time off Vacation time 401(k) retirement plan Schedule Full-time 8-hour shifts One weekend day as part of the regular schedule Occasional holidays as needed Work Environment This is an on-site position at our apartment community in El Cajon.
