FAMILY SERVICE COUNSELOR

(SALES & MEMORIALIZATION) Forest Home Cemetery is seeking a motivated, professional individual to join our Business Office team. This position combines customer service, sales, administration, and family guidance in one of the Chicago area's most historic cemeteries. This position will play a key role in expanding and growing our memorialization program, with a particular emphasis on custom headstone design, monument sales, and helping families create meaningful, lasting tributes for their loved ones. What You'll Do Assist families with at-need and preneed cemetery arrangements. Design, quote, and sell custom granite headstones, memorials, and related cemetery merchandise. Present cemetery property, burial options, crypts, niches, and memorialization products. Work closely with families to create meaningful, personalized memorials while ensuring accuracy throughout the design and ordering process. Follow up on leads, schedule appointments, and generate new sales opportunities. Prepare contracts, permits, proofs, and related documentation. Coordinate with funeral homes, monument companies, families, and cemetery staff. Maintain accurate records while providing exceptional customer service. What We're Looking For A self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their work. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Sales experience with the ability to confidently discuss pricing and service options. Experience with monument sales, memorial design, funeral service, cemetery operations, or other consultative sales is strongly preferred. Comfortable learning design software, cemetery systems, and business processes. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Must successfully pass a background check. Must obtain licensure as an Illinois Cemetery Customer Service Employee (CCSE) within one year of hire, as required by Illinois law. Compensation & Benefits $18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience. Uncapped commissions on eligible sales. Paid time off and company benefits.
