About the Role Legacy Home Builders NC is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and analytical Real Estate Acquisition Assistant to support our real estate acquisition and development activities. This position plays an important role in researching potential acquisitions, maintaining the acquisition pipeline, coordinating due diligence, tracking critical deadlines, and ensuring acquisition-related tasks are followed through to completion. The role works closely with company leadership as well as brokers, sellers, engineers, attorneys, municipalities, consultants, and internal teams. The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership, stays ahead of deadlines, follows up without needing repeated reminders, and can keep multiple active opportunities organized at the same time. Key ResponsibilitiesAcquisition Research & Feasibility Research and analyze potential real estate acquisitions, including on- and off-market opportunities. Research zoning, utilities, GIS and parcel information, surveys, flood maps, comparable properties, and other relevant property information. Review density allowances, setbacks, overlays, land-use restrictions, and other factors affecting development feasibility. Assist with preliminary feasibility analysis and basic financial underwriting. Conduct rental and sales comparable analyses and market research. Help identify potential zoning, entitlement, utility, development, and acquisition risks. Organize acquisition and underwriting information for leadership review and decision-making. Acquisition Pipeline & Due Diligence Maintain an accurate and up-to-date acquisition pipeline. Track due diligence periods, contracts, deposits, contingencies, approvals, deadlines, and anticipated closings. Maintain organized records and documentation for active opportunities. Coordinate surveys, preliminary engineering, environmental work, and other third-party due diligence. Follow up on outstanding due diligence items until completion. Identify issues that could delay or jeopardize a transaction. Help ensure contractual and acquisition deadlines are not missed. Communication & Coordination Communicate with brokers, sellers, engineers, attorneys, municipalities, consultants, and internal teams. Follow up on documents, reports, proposals, approvals, and outstanding information. Coordinate with planning departments, municipalities, and government officials. Attend property, planning, city, county, and acquisition-related meetings when needed. Maintain clear records of communications, responsibilities, and next steps. Administrative & Executive Support Prepare leadership for acquisition-related meetings and decisions with organized information, documents, status updates, and outstanding issues. Maintain calendars, task lists, meeting notes, deadlines, and follow-up items. Schedule meetings, property visits, calls, and other acquisition activities. Prepare reports, property information, presentations, and meeting materials. Assist with correspondence, research, data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping. Provide additional administrative and operational support based on company priorities. Adaptable — willing to assist with a variety of acquisition, administrative, research, and operational responsibilities. The core expectation for this role is to be proactive, organized, analytical, responsive, and accountable , with an emphasis on anticipating needs and ensuring important tasks do not fall through the cracks. Schedule This is a full-time, in-person position based in Hickory, North Carolina .

7:30 AM-6:00
PM Saturday:
8:00 AM-1:00 PM Occasional additional hours or local travel may be required depending on acquisition opportunities, due diligence, meetings, closings, and other business needs.
