CFO Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Store and Office Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our welding and metal fabrication business. This position is a combination of store assistance, customer service, inventory/store support, and general office administration . The ideal candidate is comfortable working around a metal shop, interacting with customers and vendors, keeping things organized, and handling a variety of tasks throughout the day. This is a great position for someone who enjoys a hands-on work environment but also has strong organizational and computer skills. Key Responsibilities Store Support Receive, organize, and put away welding supplies, tools, and other materials. Help maintain an organized and clean store, storage areas, and customer-facing areas. Help track and maintain inventory of welding supplies, hardware, and shop materials. Keep commonly used supplies stocked and communicate when items need to be reordered. Perform basic cleaning, organizing, and maintenance tasks around the store as needed. Follow all store safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Customer Service Greet customers and assist with walk-in and phone inquiries. Help customers identify and locate welding supplies, hardware, and materials. Receive customer orders and relay job or material requests to the appropriate shop personnel. Prepare estimates, invoices, receipts, and other customer paperwork as needed. Provide professional and friendly customer service. Communicate with customers regarding order status, pickups, deliveries, and other routine questions. Office & Administrative Duties Answer phones, respond to emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate person. Enter orders, customer information, inventory information, and other data into the company's computer system. Prepare and organize paperwork, work orders, purchase orders, invoices, and receipts. Assist with scheduling deliveries and pickups. Maintain organized digital and paper files. Assist with accounts payable/receivable and other basic bookkeeping tasks as needed. Communicate with vendors regarding orders, pricing, availability, and deliveries. Assist management with general administrative tasks and special projects. Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer skills and willingness to learn company software. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy work environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable, punctual, and willing to take initiative. Ability to safely lift and move materials and supplies as required. Must be comfortable working in a shop environment around equipment, metal, noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Preferred Skills Experience with inventory management or point-of-sale systems. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software. Basic understanding of measurements and reading material dimensions. Previous office administration or customer service experience. What We're Looking For The right person is someone who can switch comfortably between the office and the store . You might spend part of the morning helping a customer, receiving a delivery, entering an invoice, organizing welding supplies, and helping the shop team locate materials. We are looking for someone who is dependable, practical, organized, and willing to help wherever needed . Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials and supplies as required. Ability to work around welding operations, metalworking equipment, noise, dust, and outdoor/warehouse conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Compensation & Schedule Pay:
$22-$28 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00
PM Employment Type:
