Duties Engage with customers both inside the store and through outside sales efforts to understand their renovation, remodeling, or construction needs. Demonstrate product features through live demos, including lighting design and fixture selections. Provide expert advice on construction materials, interior design options, and maintenance solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Assist clients with project planning by creating layout designs, offering upselling opportunities on premium products, and guiding them through product selections. Manage customer relationships, follow up on leads, and ensure repeat business. Handle POS transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while maintaining organized stock levels and merchandising displays. Close sales effectively by negotiating deals, upselling additional products or services, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial consultation to deal closing. Qualifications Proven experience in outside sales within the building materials or construction industry; interior design or remodeling background is a plus. Demonstrated ability to build lasting customer relationships through exceptional service and client communication. Organizational skills to manage stock levels, maintain merchandising standards, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to negotiate effectively, close deals confidently, and upsell products to meet sales targets. Experience with retail math calculations related to pricing, discounts, and profit margins; familiarity with lighting design or interior layout is advantageous.
