Job Description

Overview Briarwood Country Club is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused individual to join our golf operations team as a Seasonal Assistant Golf Professional. This role is a vital part of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all golf-related activities while providing an exceptional experience for our members and guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the game of golf, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to professional development. This is a Full Time Seasonal position from November 1st - April 30th. Flexibility on dates. Experience Required PGA Member or registered PGA Apprentice in good standing is preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a private club or high-end golf environment is preferred. Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, its rules, and golf facility operations. Proficiency with golf-related software, including point-of-sale (POS) systems (Golf 365), tee time software (Foretees), and tournament management software (Golf Genius). Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market the club's offerings. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Responsibilities Tournament and Event Management:
Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of member tournaments, corporate outings, and weekly events. This includes everything from pre-event contracts and course setup to scoring, prize distribution, and follow-up.
Daily Operations:
Oversee the day-to-day golf operations, including managing tee times, monitoring pace of play, and supervising outside services staff (cart attendants, starters, player assistants).
Golf Shop Management:
Assist with all aspects of the golf shop, including member and guest check-in, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, inventory control, and merchandising. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail space.
Customer Service:
Greet all members and guests with a welcoming and professional demeanor. Proactively solve problems and address concerns to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Club and Equipment Services:
Perform club repair and fitting services for members and guests.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records for handicapping (GHIN), lesson scheduling, and tournament scoring. Assist with staff scheduling and other administrative tasks as needed.
Professional Conduct:
Maintain a professional image and represent the club in a positive light at all times, both on and off the course. Play golf with a variety of members in both competitive and social situations to build relationships. Benefits Opportunities for lesson and club fitting income. Playing and practice privileges.
