This is a full time position at our Cotati store. You must have a reliable car to get to work to be considered. 576

Would be responsible, organized, willing to learn and wants to work. This job is not hard, and should not be stressful. 99% of customers are great and the others can be grumpy but not terrible so you must have the social skills to be able to talk to people. We are a laid back work place, no drama, we like to joke and have fun when no customers are in the store. If you cannot handle swear words or crude joke this place is not for you. If you are sensitive this is not the place for you I'm hard but fair to work for. If you do your job and have a good attitude we'll get along great, if you don't you'll be gone before the probation period ends.

Job description:

I'm expecting you to learn and be passionate about animals. You will go through a training courses to learn how to talk about animal nutrition, behaviors, sales, and minor medical problems to help the customer. This is a sales job you must be able to sell and upsell customers without putting pressure on them. I rather have you help the customer and they walk out with no products then them leaving feeling like they just talked to a used car salesmen. Most customers will want to talk about their pets so you must like animals to be considered for this job. I'm looking for people that can keep themselves busy cleaning, merchandising, stocking, or anything else that you notice that needs to be done. I don't want to micro manage you so you must be able to work on your own without being on the phone or having ear pods in.

Stocking :

unloading pallets of dog and cat food up to 50lbs. Restocking the shelves from the pallets. We get 10-15,000lbs of food a week that is unloaded by hand and stored by hand. If you cannot do that a week this job is not for you. This includes organizing the shelves, rotating stock, stocking cans. Stocking cans is a tedious job, it's not hard work but its monotonous and you will have to restock and face the cans multiple times throughout the day. If you can't deal with that, this job is not for you. You must be able to lift 50lbs throughout the day during this job and be able to climb step ladders to stock the storage areas. Customer service : You will go through a digital training program to learn the basics about the products, and I will teach you the more complex info so you will become an expert on the products. This also means you are here to talk to the customer, help them with what they need. You will also be carrying items out to the customers cars. This job requires you to be able to talk to people and connect with them to bring a rewarding experience to the store. This is an absolute requirement so you cannot be shy or reserved and afraid to talk to customers, and coworkers.

Janitorial :

This job also includes sweeping, both dry and wet mopping, cleaning windows, cleaning up occasional pet droppings from puppies or misbehaved animals. Dusting the shelves, maintaining the bathroom, and taking out the trash, or anything else needed to maintain the store. Register & Computer work : You must be able to use a windows computer whether from ringing people up on the pos, emailing the appropriate people if products are missing from deliveries, taking and placing special orders on our company forms, clerical duties to maintain inventory, and all training is done from the computers. Do not apply if you can't operate a computer.

Educational seminars:

are held 1-2 times a month these are required and are paid. These seminars will have the various brand trainers teaching you more about their food or product. It's not hard work but you do have to take notes and participate in them.

Starting pay:

is $18 Pay rate increase 50 cents for every 30 days until probation is over. You have to be in good standing to receive your probation pay increase IE showing up, good attitude, proactive in the work place and professional. Once you are off probation your rate will be $19. Complete the 20-25 online training courses and you get a 25cent increase for each course you complete the typical course is 3-5 short videos about the brands with a few question tests after each video . To get each raise you have to be an asset to the company. You must continue showing up on time, ready to work, be able to work by yourself and learning about the various brands and following the company goals for the day, week, etc. Once you have completed all training and passed probation, you will receive more specialized training and more responsibilities up will be able to earn up to $28+ an hour for a store clerk.

Work ethic:

You must be able to stay busy, and focused on your job. This is not the place you talk to your coworkers or friends constantly throughout the day. You are expected to act like a responsible adult, and maintain all company requirements throughout the store.

Personal skills:

You must like people and pets, it's a plus if you have animals of your own.

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
