You'll work the sales floor of a licensed firearms dealer, where every transfer involves federal paperwork that must be completed without error, every customer interaction involves a real firearm, and safety rules are enforced without exception - even when it means telling a paying customer no. We're looking for someone self-motivated who thrives in a fast-paced, team-player environment and takes personal ownership of accuracy, safety, and customer experience. What You'll Do Assist customers with firearm, ammunition, and accessory sales in a knowledgeable, friendly manner Process firearm transfers and required federal and state paperwork (ATF Form 4473, background check submissions) with complete accuracy Support range operations, including check-in, lane assignments, and enforcement of range safety rules Handle firearms safely and demonstrate proper handling to customers at all times Operate the POS system, handle cash accurately, and balance the register drawer Answer phone inquiries professionally and recommend accessories, ammunition, and add-ons that fit the customer's needs Maintain merchandising, restocking, and general store upkeep Support special events, training classes, and our airsoft shoot house experiences What We're Looking For Prior experience working in a gun store, shooting range, or firearms retail environment strongly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of safe firearm handling practices Self-motivated with the ability to stay productive during busy periods without close supervision A team player who communicates well and backs up coworkers in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with ATF compliance procedures and Form 4473 processing is a plus Comfort with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math Strong customer service skills and a patient, welcoming approach with new shooters The confidence to enforce safety rules and compliance requirements consistently, even in uncomfortable situations Reliability and attention to detail, especially with regulated paperwork Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age, as required for the sale and handling of handguns under applicable federal and state firearms regulations Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history background check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, as required for all firearms dealer employees under Colorado law (C.R.S. 18-12-407). This is a mandatory condition of employment for this position.
