The Plant Team Member - Pipe supports daily concrete pipe and precast manufacturing operations by preparing, assembling, and maintaining molds, forms, reinforcement, and production materials. This entry-level role performs a variety of hands-on plant duties to help maintain safe, efficient, and continuous operations. Training is provided for equipment operation, safety procedures, and production processes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Prepare, inspect, and stage concrete forms and molds before each production cycle. Read and follow basic production instructions, layouts, and shop drawings. Place and secure rolled mesh, reinforcement cages, and loose rebar using tie guns, clip guns, or hand tools. Install concrete accessories, including steps, knockouts, spacers, and inserts. Clean forms, molds, tools, equipment, and production areas after each cycle. Stage materials and components in designated areas to support continuous production. Assemble and position form components according to drawings and instructions. Apply concrete release oil to molds and components as directed. Assist with moving, setting up, and cleaning headers, pallets, and equipment before concrete pours. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and certification. Operate overhead and jib cranes after completing required training. Work safely around automated production equipment and moving machinery. Participate in quality inspections, safety meetings, and plant cleanup activities. Assist production crews during increased workloads and team member absences. Perform additional production and plant support duties as assigned. Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Zero to two years of related manufacturing, production, construction, or plant experience. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply. Ability to exercise good judgment while working around machinery and unloading materials. Strong teamwork skills and flexibility to support changing production needs. Self-motivated with the ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing workloads. Strong commitment to workplace safety and established procedures. Willingness to learn, complete training, and cross-train on equipment and production processes. Forklift, crane, concrete, or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
Physical & Mental Demands:
Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift. Frequent bending, twisting, climbing, grasping, gripping, and repetitive movement. Occasional reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to occasionally lift or move heavier materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Ability to concentrate, follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and safely perform assigned duties. Ability to maintain awareness while working around moving machinery, equipment, and materials. May require operation of forklifts, cranes, hand tools, and other equipment associated with the position.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor production environments. Exposure to varying temperatures, heat, cold, humidity, dust, dirt, vibration, and industrial noise. Regular work near moving machinery, automated equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes. Occasional exposure to heights, confined spaces, oils, solvents, and other production materials. Required personal protective equipment must be worn in designated work areas. Full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. No regular travel required.
