Altius Dispensary, a licensed New Jersey adult-use cannabis dispensary, is seeking motivated and qualified candidates to join our team as Budtenders/Sales Associates. The ideal candidate is passionate about cannabis, dependable, professional, and committed to providing an exceptional customer experience. This position is responsible for assisting customers with product selection, providing accurate product information, completing sales transactions, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the dispensary. All employees are expected to follow Altius Dispensary policies and procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and all applicable requirements established by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC) and other applicable state and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement and Education:

Welcome and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner. Ask appropriate questions to understand customer preferences and provide general information regarding available cannabis products, consumption methods, product types, accessories, and merchandise.

Sales and Transactions:

Accurately process customer transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system. Verify orders and product selections before completing each transaction and ensure all sales comply with applicable purchasing limits and company procedures.

ID Verification and Compliance:

Properly verify customer identification and eligibility to purchase adult-use cannabis in accordance with New Jersey law, NJ-CRC requirements, and company procedures. Employees must never knowingly complete a prohibited or non-compliant transaction.

Cash Handling:

Accurately handle cash and other approved forms of payment. Follow all company cash-handling procedures, including register counts, cash closeouts, and reporting discrepancies immediately to management.

Product Knowledge:

Maintain working knowledge of the dispensary's cannabis products, including product categories, strains, cannabinoids, consumption methods, accessories, and branded merchandise. Stay informed regarding new products, vendor information, promotions, and industry developments.

Compliance and SOPs:

Follow all Altius Dispensary SOPs, security procedures, inventory controls, and applicable New Jersey cannabis regulations. Immediately report compliance concerns, suspicious activity, inventory discrepancies, or policy violations to management.

Inventory Support:

Assist with product organization, stocking, order preparation, inventory counts, and other inventory-related duties as assigned. Handle cannabis products carefully and in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

Store Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional work environment. Employees may be responsible for routine cleaning, restocking, organizing work areas, and completing assigned operational tasks during downtime.

Team Collaboration:

Work cooperatively with management, supervisors, and coworkers to support store operations and provide a consistent customer experience. Follow reasonable instructions and assist in other areas of the dispensary when business needs require.

Professional Conduct:

Maintain professionalism when interacting with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management. Protect confidential company and customer information and follow all Altius Dispensary workplace policies. Salary $16 - $17 USD per hour

Required Skills Customer Service:

Strong customer-service skills with the ability to communicate professionally, respectfully, and patiently with a diverse customer base.

Communication:

Ability to clearly communicate product information, company policies, and customer-service information.

Fast-Paced Environment:

Ability to remain organized, accurate, and professional during high-volume periods, weekends, holidays, promotions, and other peak business hours.

Cannabis Knowledge:

Interest in learning about cannabis products, industry developments, and responsible adult-use cannabis sales.

Technical Proficiency:

Comfortable learning and using POS systems, inventory systems, and basic computer applications.

Cash-Handling Accuracy:

Ability to responsibly handle cash and complete transactions accurately.

Reliability:

Regular and dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work assigned shifts are essential functions of this position.

Integrity and Professionalism:

Demonstrates sound judgment, honesty, confidentiality, accountability, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Teamwork:

Ability to work effectively with coworkers and management and contribute to a respectful and productive workplace.
