is HIRING!! The New York Butcher Shoppe is seeking a friendly, hardworking, customer service oriented Prepared Foods Team Member for a full-time hourly position. Tips increase hourly rate $5.00 - $10.00 an hour. Responsibilities Prepare high-quality ready-to-eat meals, side dishes, appetizers, and grab-and-go items according to recipes and company standards. Ensure all food is prepared, portioned, packaged, labeled, and displayed with attention to quality and presentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen while following all food safety and sanitation procedures. Monitor product freshness, rotate inventory (FIFO), and help minimize food waste. Stock and replenish prepared meal displays, coolers, and shelves throughout the day. Assist with receiving deliveries, stocking inventory, and maintaining an organized prep area. Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and creating a welcoming shopping experience. Work closely with the butcher team and other staff to keep daily operations running smoothly. Assist with cleaning equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas at the end of each shift. Perform other duties as needed to support the success of the team. Qualifications 2 years of experience in a restaurant, deli, grocery, catering, or commercial kitchen preparing food. Passion for cooking, food quality, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. Ability to follow recipes, maintain consistency, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices. Comfortable operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and presentation. A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed—teamwork is a must. Reliable, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks throughout the day. Comfortable working in refrigerated environments and standing for extended periods while lifting up to 50 pounds. Excellent communication and customer service skills. ServSafe Certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain certification). One more thing... We prepare beautiful meals, not "I just rolled out of bed" vibes. Our customers eat with their eyes first, and they notice the details—including the people preparing and serving their food. If you're well-groomed, neat, and take pride in your appearance, you'll fit right in. If personal hygiene and looking professional aren't important to you, this probably isn't the place for you. Store Hours We are open 10am-7pm Monday through Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday. •
