Position Summary The Part-Time Retail Clerk provides exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Pro Shop. This position assists members and guests with merchandise purchases, tee times, and golf-related services while maintaining an attractive, organized, and well-stocked retail environment. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner. Assist customers with merchandise selection and product recommendations. Answer questions regarding golf course operations, tournaments, memberships, and club events. Provide exceptional customer service that enhances the member and guest experience. Retail Operations Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process merchandise sales, tee times, gift cards, and other transactions accurately. Balance the cash drawer and follow established cash handling procedures. Answer telephone calls and assist with customer inquiries. Schedule and modify tee times using the reservation system. Promote golf merchandise, lessons, outings, memberships, and special events when appropriate. Assist with tournament registrations and merchandise sales. Merchandise & Inventory Receive, unpack, stock, and merchandise retail inventory. Maintain attractive displays and ensure the sales floor remains clean, organized, and well-stocked. Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock. Assist with periodic inventory counts. Price and label merchandise as directed. Pro Shop Support Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Pro Shop. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Prepare tournament gift items, prizes, and registration materials. Coordinate with outside golf staff to ensure a seamless member and guest experience. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Expectations Valid driver's license required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail, customer service, or golf operations experience preferred but not required. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn point-of-sale software. Strong communication, organizational, and basic math skills. Friendly, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional customer service. Professional appearance and positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Process transactions accurately and responsibly. Protect and care for all merchandise, equipment, and company property safely, responsibly, and respectfully. Maintain confidentiality of member information and company business. Represent The Woods professionally and follow all company policies and procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and stock merchandise throughout the shift. Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and point-of-sale equipment. Working Conditions Indoor retail environment with occasional outdoor interaction with golfers. Part-time position requiring a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and seasonal hours.
