Store Manager / General Manager About the Position We are seeking an experienced, motivated Assistant Manager to join our beer, wine and liquor retail team. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the store, providing leadership to employees, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining strong merchandising and inventory standards, and helping ensure the store operates efficiently and in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. This is a full-time salaried management position requiring approximately 45 hours per week. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, customer-focused, and comfortable leading a retail team in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager with the overall daily operation of the store Supervise, train, coach and motivate employees Provide outstanding customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally Open and/or close the store and ensure proper procedures are followed Assist with scheduling, staffing and employee accountability Monitor sales, productivity and store performance Maintain proper merchandising, pricing, signage and product presentation Help maintain accurate inventory and minimize loss, damage and shrink Ensure cash-handling, register and daily closing procedures are followed Assist with promotions, displays and special sales events Maintain a clean, safe and organized sales floor and backroom Ensure compliance with all company policies and applicable Massachusetts alcoholic beverage laws and regulations Monitor compliance with age-verification and responsible alcohol-service requirements Assist the Store Manager with employee performance issues and other personnel matters Step into the Store Manager's responsibilities when the Store Manager is unavailable Perform other duties necessary to support the successful operation of the store Qualifications Previous retail, grocery, liquor store or other high-volume retail management experience preferred: 2 Years.
