Summary The Non-Ferrous Production Lead position will oversee the daily activities of the Non-Ferrous Operations and ensure that the quality standards are met and perform any necessary duties critical to maintain critical production levels. Provide support to the Non-Ferrous Supervisor and ensure the warehouse operations objectives are achieved. Must be familiar with and adhere to service requirements, equipment and operator limitations and safe operating procedures at all times. Performs cleanup activities on a routine basis. Performs other duties as directed by management. Essential Job Functions

• Lead and coordinate daily activities of non-ferrous department employees.
• Weigh non-ferrous material and input transactions into "in-house" system.
• Weighing, sorting, and moving material including general duties involving physical handling of materials, supplies, etc.
• Ensure proper identification, sorting, grading, and processing of non-ferrous materials including aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, and insulated wire.
• Monitor material quality and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Train new employees on equipment operation, safety procedures, and department standards.
• Interact with employees on other scales to verify/restrict duplication of purchase.
• Accurately identify material to be able to process material within a range supplied by management and/or verify correct pricing.
• Act as a liaison between management and the crew.
• Maintain accurate record keeping of all documents related to deliveries and shipments.
• Communicate operational issues and maintenance concerns to the NF Supervisor.
• Operate forklifts, loaders, balers, and other processing equipment as needed.
• Conduct monthly retail inventory.
• General labor duties that may include but are not limited to sweeping, shoveling and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yard.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in safety programs.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist employees as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED.
• Industry experience in scrap, metal preferred
• Prior experience with hand tools, preferred, but not required
• Ability to work inside or outside as required
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
• Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
• Good communication skills
• Team-player
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills; must be willing to cross-train on other equipment
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
• Basic math, reading and writing English skills are required.

Work Hours:

Monday through Friday with a 40+ hour work week. Saturdays and overtime will be required to facilitate business and production needs.
