Candidates should have retail experience and knowledge of pricing for vintage and antique merchandise. The Gift Shop Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the gift shop, which includes but not limited to opening and closing the shop. Some buying functions as out lined by the business manager, cash deposits and daily sales reporting.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for opening and closing the gift shop.
Maintain and exemplify gift shop policies.
Train and direct all volunteers and paid staff on all gift shop procedures.
Order candy, magazines, sundries and other specified categories as defined by the business manager.
Stocks merchandise on sales floor.
Completes daily cash deposits.
Runs daily sales reports.
Customer service.
Maintains a weekly cleaning schedule for the gift shop.
Set the standard for excellent service and up selling products to the volunteers and customers
Provides monthly reports to accounting as needed.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Be able to lift 30 to 40 lbs. Be able to climb a ladder. Be able to stand / walk for 7 to 8 hours daily. Be able to bend.
EDUCATION
College High School Graduate or GED equivalent. College course work a plus.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Retail and supervisory experience preferred. Computer proficient, including Microsoft office. Understand Retail math and be able to apply when needed. Cash handling experience required.
