About the Role As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will serve as the essential link connecting the R&D expertise at HI-LEX with the shifting demands of our clientele. Your primary focus involves reaching out to prospective partners to present our latest R&D advancements, uncovering technical obstacles, and partnering with our internal staff to foster creative product designs that effectively address client needs. Key Responsibilities Engage in proactive technical outreach by connecting with current and prospective clients to highlight our latest R&D innovations and service capabilities. Perform detailed technical assessments to pinpoint specific client requirements and discover potential avenues for new product development or system adjustments. Serve as a vital technical link between our clients and the internal engineering department, ensuring that client feedback is converted into clear design specifications. Assist with the RFQ process by ensuring that all technical specifications are precisely captured and integrated into our commercial proposals. Cultivate a comprehensive knowledge of HI-LEX offerings, specifically focusing on material compatibility and manufacturing techniques like ultrasonic welding. Monitor industry shifts and conduct competitor analysis to help shape our long-term R&D strategy and product development roadmap. Qualifications Education A bachelor degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Functional Experience Demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering standards such as GD&T, FMEA, and DFM, along with the skill to navigate 3D models and technical blueprints. Communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences through strong verbal and written skills. Show proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, with a preference for those experienced in CRM platforms like Salesforce. Industry Experience Possess 3 to 5 years of professional background in technical sales, product engineering, or business development, ideally within the manufacturing or automotive industries. Core Competencies Expertise in product design and development. Ability to utilize 3D modeling software for tasks such as manipulating, sectioning, and reviewing models. Required Skills Help bridge the communication gap by explaining intricate technical concepts to stakeholders who lack a technical background. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key customer contacts in engineering and purchasing departments. Other Requirements Work within a flexible, open-office setting that may require shifting your workspace on a daily basis. Be prepared for occasional travel via train, car, or air to visit supplier sites, customer locations, or other company facilities. Physical Requirements Maintain the ability to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Operate comfortably in an office setting characterized by typical noise levels from virtual meetings, group discussions, and phone calls.
