Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking New & Used Vehicle Lot Technician to help maintain our dealership's new and pre-owned vehicle inventory. This is a hands-on position responsible for keeping vehicles clean, organized, fueled, charged, and ready for customers. The Lot Technician also helps maintain the overall appearance of the dealership lot and assists the sales and service teams with vehicle movement and preparation. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well independently, stays productive without constant supervision, and understands that the appearance and readiness of our vehicles directly affects the customer experience. Key Responsibilities Maintain the appearance and organization of new and used vehicle inventory. Move and park vehicles safely throughout the dealership property. Keep vehicles properly lined up, spaced, and displayed according to dealership standards. Prepare vehicles for customer demonstrations, test drives, and delivery. Check vehicles regularly for cleanliness and overall presentation. Wash, vacuum, and perform light vehicle cleaning as needed. Ensure vehicles have adequate fuel and/or charge levels and assist with fueling or charging vehicles. Install or remove dealer plates, window stickers, information sheets, and other vehicle materials as directed. Transport vehicles between dealership departments, storage areas, vendors, or other locations when assigned. Identify and report vehicle damage, warning lights, low tires, dead batteries, missing keys, or other concerns to management. Assist with snow removal, lot cleanup, trash removal, and other seasonal or general property-maintenance duties. Keep vehicle keys and dealership equipment organized and secure. Follow dealership procedures for vehicle handling, safety, and inventory control. Assist the sales and service departments with other vehicle-related duties as needed. Qualifications Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Ability to safely operate a variety of cars, trucks, SUVs, and other dealership vehicles. Dependable transportation and reliable attendance. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and remain physically active throughout the workday. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned work without constant supervision. Professional attitude when interacting with customers and coworkers. Previous dealership, automotive, detailing, or lot experience is helpful but not required. More than anything, we are looking for someone who is reliable, productive, and takes pride in keeping things looking right . A successful Lot Technician notices when a vehicle is dirty, out of place, low on fuel, has a dead battery, or otherwise isn't ready for a customer—and takes action rather than waiting to be told. This position is an important part of the dealership team. Our inventory represents a significant investment, and keeping those vehicles organized, protected, presentable, and ready to sell is a key responsibility of this role. The person in this position should: Arrive on time and be ready to work. Treat dealership vehicles carefully and responsibly. Maintain a clean and professional-looking lot. Work efficiently and stay productive throughout the shift. Communicate problems or vehicle concerns promptly. Be willing to help wherever needed. Treat customers and fellow employees professionally and respectfully.
