We work with homeowners, contractors, remodelers, and custom home builders to supply the materials they need to take projects from concept to completion. Our product offering includes lumber and framing materials, fencing, decking, siding, millwork, timbers, flooring, and other specialty building products. We're looking for an experienced building materials sales professional who understands residential construction, enjoys developing customer relationships, and knows that great sales results come from responsiveness, product knowledge, and consistent follow-up. The Opportunity This is a full-time, showroom and office based sales position in Richland Hills, Texas. You'll manage customer opportunities from the initial conversation through quoting, follow-up, and final sale. Most customer communication happens by phone, email, text, social media, and in person at our showroom. This is not a traditional outside sales or territory management position, although occasional customer and jobsite visits may occur. Our customers come to us for projects including: Custom homes Remodels Composite and wood decks Covered patios and pergolas Siding projects Outdoor living projects Wood Privacy Fencing One conversation might be with a homeowner planning their first major project. The next might be with an experienced contractor or custom builder who purchases materials every week. Your job is to understand what they're building, help them put together the right material package, earn the sale, and build a relationship that brings them back for the next project. What You'll Do Respond quickly and professionally to new sales inquiries Develop quotes and proposals for residential construction projects Follow up consistently on open quotes and opportunities Help customers identify the complete material package needed for their project Recommend complementary products and solutions Develop lasting relationships with contractors, remodelers, builders, handymen, and homeowners Manage opportunities and customer follow-up through our CRM Generate new contractor business through calls, email, referrals, networking, and social media Maintain communication with customers throughout the sales process Continually improve your knowledge of building products and residential construction Who We're Looking For This role is designed for someone who already knows the building materials or residential construction industry. They ask questions. They learn what the customer is trying to build. They follow up when they say they will. They look for the next product the customer is going to need. And over time, they become the salesperson contractors and homeowners ask for by name. If you're organized, competitive, knowledgeable about construction, and enjoy building a book of repeat customers, you'll have significant opportunity to grow here. This Probably Isn't the Right Position If You Are looking for software, SaaS, or technology sales Want a traditional outside-sales territory Have little exposure to residential construction or building materials Prefer selling only one narrow product category Don't enjoy consistent customer follow-up Prefer taking orders to actively developing customer relationships Don't want to use a CRM to manage your opportunities Compensation Base salary + uncapped commission Successful first-year sales representatives typically earn $65,000-$90,000 Experienced high performers regularly earn $90,000-$130,000+ No cap on commissions Your earning potential grows as you develop repeat customers, contractor relationships, and a larger book of business. Why Legacy Builder Supply? We're building a different kind of building materials company. We're large enough to offer our customers a broad range of products and opportunities for our salespeople to grow, but we're still an independent company where individual performance and ideas matter. At Legacy Builder Supply, you'll have the opportunity to: Sell across multiple building-product categories Develop your own base of repeat customers Build relationships with homeowners, contractors, and builders Learn from experienced building-materials professionals Take on greater responsibility as the company grows Help shape how we serve the residential construction market Earn uncapped commissions based on your performance If you know building materials, enjoy sales, and want the opportunity to build a substantial book of business, we'd like to hear from you.
