Senior Field Supervisor owns install quality, training, and field execution across multiple crews and projects at the location. This role is in the field every day, leads and develops the Field Supervisors and installers under it, sets the standard for how work is done, and steps in on the hardest problems that field supervisors cannot resolve on their own. This role reports to the
RNC HVAC
Branch Manager and carries broad discretionary authority to resolve issues with customers, crews, and field supervisors, escalating to the branch manager only when a decision exceeds its authority. This role is responsible for fixing: Install quality that varies from crew to crew and supervisor to supervisor with no consistent standard enforced across the location Hard field problems and escalations that field supervisors cannot resolve on their own Labor, material, and equipment waste across crews that cuts into job profitability A thin bench of supervisors and installers who are not trained or developed to take on more responsibility Core Responsibilities 1. Quality and Plans Read mechanical plans and provide as-builts and red-lines. Inspect work in progress to confirm quality adheres to company and safety standards. Provide technical assistance to installers when requested. 2. Supervision, Training, and Development Direct and coordinate the field supervisors, installers, and trainees across crews so labor, materials, and equipment are used efficiently. Perform daily jobsite evaluations of crews and field supervisors and hold them to a consistent quality standard. Develop field supervisors and installers in both number and skill, building the bench to take on more responsibility. Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce. 3. Personnel and Compliance Recommend persons to be hired, disciplined, discharged, or promoted. Initiate performance reviews for field supervisors and the install team as defined by policy. Explain and ensure that policy, program, and operational directives are followed by field supervisors and the install team. Confirm the accuracy of paperwork from subordinates. 4. Production and Cost Own the operational effectiveness and profitability of the install function at the location, reporting status and risks to the branch manager. Ensure production output meets the standards set by the location for completed jobs. Control labor cost by ensuring the overtime mandate is achieved. Perform standard truck inventory and safety inspections. Performance Standards 1. Install Quality Work in progress consistently meets company and safety standards. As-builts and red-lines are accurate and provided on time. 2. Team Development Daily jobsite evaluations are completed and field supervisors and installers grow in skill and number. Performance reviews are initiated on time and follow-up is consistent. 3. Production and Cost Production output meets location standards for completed jobs. Labor cost is controlled and the overtime mandate is achieved. Truck inventory and safety inspections are completed on schedule. 4. Adherence to Company Policy Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. Ensure regular and reliable attendance. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. 5. Contribute to Other Organizational Duties (as needed) Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered. At least five years of experience as an HVAC field supervisor required. Ability to read mechanical plans and provide as-builts and red-lines. Ability to train, supervise, and develop both installers and field supervisors. Ability to speak Spanish preferred. Eligible to legally work in the United States; must be at least 18 years of age. Must successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
