Sales Representative — GovTech SaaS Limestone Technology Group / LimestoneGov Tennessee (hybrid, with in-state travel) Part-time About Us LimestoneGov.com builds software for state and local government — meetings and agendas, public records requests, finance, workforce, operations, and IT. We're a division of Limestone Technology Group. What makes us different is who built it. Our leadership spent three decades inside government IT, including twenty years managing public records in Tennessee, most recently running technology for one of the largest governments in the state. We didn't study the compliance burden from the outside. We carried it. We're early. You would be one of the first sales hires, selling into a market our founders have worked in their entire careers. The Role You'll own new business across Tennessee — counties, cities, school districts, utility and special districts, and quasi-governmental agencies. This is a full-cycle role. You'll prospect, run discovery, demo the product, respond to RFPs and bid requirements, navigate procurement, and close. You'll also spend real time at conferences and association meetings, because that's where this market actually happens. You'll be selling alongside a founder who knows the buyers. You will not be handed a list and told good luck. What You'll Do Build and work a pipeline of Tennessee public sector accounts Run discovery calls and product demonstrations for clerks, finance officers, IT directors, and county and city administrators Respond to RFPs, RFQs, and ITBs, and track bid calendars and submission deadlines Navigate government procurement — purchasing thresholds, cooperative contract vehicles, budget cycles, and committee approval Represent us at state association conferences and regional events Manage renewals and expansion into existing accounts Keep CRM records current and forecast accurately Bring what you hear in the field back to product What We're Looking For Required Someone hungry and willing to learn Experience selling to, or working inside, state or local government Comfort with long sales cycles, committee decisions, and public procurement Willingness to travel across Tennessee — expect regular day trips and occasional overnights Strong written communication; you'll be drafting proposal and bid responses Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Experience at a govtech vendor — ERP, meeting management, permitting, public safety, or municipal websites Direct experience working in a Tennessee county, city, school district, or state agency Familiarity with the Tennessee Public Records Act, open meetings requirements, or records retention Existing relationships with Tennessee municipal or county associations Experience responding to formal RFPs Who does well here Early-stage sales is not the same job as selling an established brand. You'll be building the playbook, not running one. If you need heavy marketing support, a mature pipeline, and a big reference list to be effective, this isn't the right seat. If you're energized by being early and want to own a territory outright, it is.
