Job Description

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Wildlife Health and Conservation Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Wildlife Health and Conservation. The fellow will lead and support research on wildlife disease, health, and conservation in St. Kitts and the wider Caribbean. Responsibilities include designing and executing field and lab studies, analyzing data, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The role involves mentoring veterinary and postgraduate students, contributing to grant proposals, and collaborating with faculty and external partners. The position is based primarily on the St. Kitts campus within a student-centered, globally focused research environment. Design and conduct wildlife health and conservation research projects in St. Kitts and the Caribbean region. Collect and analyze field and laboratory data on wildlife disease, health, and ecology. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences. Contribute to grant writing and research funding proposals. Mentor and supervise veterinary and postgraduate students involved in research projects. Collaborate with faculty, local agencies, and global partners on conservation initiatives. Maintain ethical, biosafety, and animal welfare standards in all research activities. Contribute to the academic mission of RUSVM through seminars, workshops, or limited teaching. Manage research timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements. Engage with the RUSVM community to support a collaborative, student-centered research culture.
