Select Sires Internship Select Sires seeks motivated interns for 2027 to support bovine genetics and reproduction programs in the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing & Hunting industry. Interns will assist with data collection and basic analysis, support on-farm evaluations and breeding program implementation, and help prepare technical reports and training materials. Working alongside experienced geneticists and field staff, you'll gain hands-on exposure to cattle reproduction, animal handling, and herd performance improvement. This role offers strong mentorship, skill development, and insight into careers in animal science and agricultural genetics. Support reproductive and genetic data collection, organization, and basic analysis for dairy and beef herds Assist with on-farm evaluations, animal handling, and implementation of breeding protocols under supervision Help prepare reports, presentations, and educational materials for producers and internal teams Collaborate with geneticists, technicians, and field staff on research and continuous improvement projects Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and animal welfare standards Participate in team meetings, trainings, and special projects to develop technical and professional skills Data collection and entry Basic data analysis (Excel or similar) Animal handling and restraint Knowledge of bovine reproduction concepts Laboratory or field sampling techniques Technical writing and documentation Use of herd management or farm software Compliance with animal welfare and safety protocols Presentation and report preparation Basic statistics for agricultural data Progress toward a degree in Animal Science, Dairy Science, Agriculture, or related field Animal handling and safety training (preferred) Basic livestock first aid or stockmanship training (preferred)
