Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a GI Assistant, where your enthusiasm and technical skills will support the delivery of exceptional gastroenterology care. In this vital role, you will assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, and facilitate smooth patient experiences. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology will contribute to accurate diagnostics and effective patient management. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop specialized skills in endoscopy and patient care within a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist gastroenterologists during endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and other diagnostic evaluations Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment, including endoscopes, ensuring proper reprocessing and sterilization in accordance with aseptic techniques Support patient positioning, comfort, and safety throughout procedures while providing compassionate care Manage medical imaging documentation and ensure accurate recording of procedural details Maintain strict infection prevention standards by adhering to protocols for endoscope reprocessing and environmental cleanliness Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology to support clinical activities effectively Assist with the setup of diagnostic tools and imaging devices, ensuring all equipment functions correctly Qualifications Prior experience or training in gastroenterology or endoscopy is highly desirable Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to gastrointestinal procedures Certification or training in basic life support (BLS) is required to ensure patient safety during procedures Strong understanding of infection prevention practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting Technical proficiency with endoscopic equipment, medical imaging tools, and endoscope reprocessing procedures Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining high standards of patient care Excellent communication skills to assist with patient education and procedural explanations Join us in making a difference by supporting innovative gastroenterology services! Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
