$40•70/hour, Higher rates may be considered for highly experienced Agilent GC-MS specialists on a contract basis. About the Role Loud Spectrum is looking for an experienced GC-MS specialist to help set up and bring our analytical system into full operation: Agilent 5977B Inert Plus MSD Agilent Intuvo 9000 GC Agilent MassHunter software NIST spectral library Our immediate priority is finding someone who can set up, configure, tune, troubleshoot, and validate the system so it is fully operational . Once the system is running reliably, there is an opportunity for continued part-time or full-time work supporting our analytical chemistry and R D programs. What You'll Work On Set up, configure, calibrate, tune, and troubleshoot the Agilent GC-MS system Establish reliable methods and workflows for routine analysis Identify unknown volatile and semi-volatile compounds in aromachemicals, essential oils, botanical extracts, and flavor/fragrance formulations Operate and process data using Agilent MassHunter Perform spectral library searches using NIST/Wiley Use retention times and retention indices to support compound identification Prepare samples using techniques such as liquid injection, headspace, and SPME Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot instrument performance Document analytical results and develop practical laboratory procedures What We're Looking For Hands-on experience with Agilent GC-MS instrumentation Ability to independently set up and troubleshoot GC-MS hardware and software Experience with Agilent MassHunter Familiarity with NIST/Wiley spectral library searching Strong analytical troubleshooting and documentation skills Experience with aromachemicals, terpenes, essential oils, flavors, fragrances, or other complex volatile mixtures is a strong plus. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is hands-on, technically capable, and comfortable taking ownership of getting a GC-MS system operational. This can begin as a contract project , with the potential to develop into an ongoing part-time or full-time position depending on mutual fit and laboratory needs.
