Full-Time | Travel-Based Position | Frequent Overtime Available Job Description We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Traveling Gas Pump Technician to join a growing team specializing in the design, installation, and service of petroleum fueling systems and automotive service equipment. This position supports the installation, testing, removal, and replacement of petroleum storage tanks, piping systems, and fueling equipment at customer sites throughout Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, operating equipment, traveling, and working in a field construction environment. Candidates should be comfortable performing physically demanding work, working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and traveling regularly with overnight stays. Responsibilities Assist with installing and testing petroleum storage tanks, piping systems, and fueling equipment. Support the removal and proper disposal of outdated petroleum equipment. Load, unload, transport, and secure construction materials and equipment. Operate power tools, skid loaders, air compressors, forklifts, and other jobsite equipment. Perform manual construction work involving mechanical and electrical components. Assist with excavation, equipment installation, site preparation, and general construction tasks. Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations. Work effectively on active job sites in a variety of weather conditions. Travel regularly to customer locations and stay overnight as required. Work closely with technicians and project teams to complete installations efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work area, equipment, and company vehicle. Represent the company professionally while working at customer sites. Required Qualifications Previous construction, field service, automotive mechanic, HVAC, electrical, heavy equipment, or related experience preferred. Ability to perform physically demanding labor throughout the workday. Experience operating skid loaders, forklifts, air compressors, power tools, or similar equipment. Comfortable working with mechanical and electrical systems. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight on a regular basis. Ability to work 50-60+ hours per week when project demands require it. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Comfortable working around petroleum equipment and getting dirty on the job. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with construction, underground utilities, petroleum systems, or equipment installation. Interest in mechanical, electrical, or heavy equipment careers. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and project demands. Desire to grow into a leadership or management role. Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, heavy equipment, construction materials, and petroleum products. Employees regularly use power tools, forklifts, air compressors, skid loaders, and various construction equipment. Work schedules vary based on project requirements and may include early mornings, late evenings, overnight travel, and extended workweeks. After approximately one year, employees may participate in an on-call rotation approximately every seven weeks. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
