Job Description:

This is an unpaid internship. We reserve the right to cancel at any time due to health and safety concerns of the students and/or Agency Staff. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Internship is a valuable learning experience for college and university students pursuing a criminal justice or related degree. The program is administered by the GBI Office of Human Resources (OHR). The length of the internship is one semester as determined by the intern's college or university, with the concurrence of the GBI OHR. All interns must download (right click to save), complete, and upload the Internship Questionnaire. Failure to complete and upload the Internship Questionnaire will result in your application being rejected. Click the following link to download the questionnaire. Internship Questionnaire The GBI follows the Federal statute regarding drug use and is a drug-free workplace. Although some locations (domestic and foreign) have legalized recreational drug use, applicants who use or have used drugs or controlled substances will be subject to disqualification from employment with the GBI. Marijuana Usage
  • Candidates that have used marijuana or cannabis in any form (natural or synthetic) and in any location (domestic or foreign) within (1) year preceding the date of application, will be disqualified. Other Drugs
  • Candidates that have used any drugs other than marijuana, within 10 years preceding the date of application, will be disqualified. The GBI will attempt to accommodate all intern applicants, but there are no guarantees that everyone who applies will be provided an internship opportunity.   • Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit (CEACC)
  • Financial Investigations Unit
  • Division of Forensic Sciences Chemistry Biology Trace Evidence Toxicology Impressions Firearms
  • Public Affairs Office
  • Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC)
  • Medical Examiner's Office
  • Child Fatality Review Unit Failure to complete and upload the Internship Questionnaire will result in your application being rejected.

Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college OR Graduate student at an accredited university/college. U. S Citizen At least 18 years of age Will be enrolled as a full-time student during the interning semester Must be receiving academic credits for the internship (Credit hours MUST be listed on School Certification Form)
Minimum Qualifications:
Student enrolled in a Georgia high school, technical college, or university/college. Must be currently enrolled during the internship.
