Type:

full-time Position Summary The Flavorist develops and compounds flavor formulations to meet customer briefs, innovation goals, and regulatory standards. Operating in a hands-on laboratory environment, this role creates and optimizes flavors across sweet, savory, beverage, and dairy applications while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure quality, consistency, and scale-up feasibility.

Key Responsibilities Flavor Creation:

Develop, modify, and compound novel flavor formulations for performance, cost, and stability.

Sensory Evaluation:

Conduct organoleptic testing (taste and smell) and lead flavor panel reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with Applications, Quality, and Production teams to validate flavor performance and troubleshoot commercial scale-up.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain precise formulation records and ensure adherence to FEMA/GRAS, IFRA, and GMP guidelines.

Innovation:

Evaluate new raw materials from suppliers and track market trends to expand the flavor portfolio.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.

Certification:

Certified Flavorist designation.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in flavor chemistry, compounding techniques, and raw material functionality.

Core Abilities:

Exceptional sensory acuity (taste/odor), precise documentation habits, and strong teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

Ability to work around aroma chemicals in a lab setting; occasional travel required.
