Job Description

CleanPack Chemist Clean Harbors seeks a CleanPack Chemist to safely identify, classify, and process hazardous and non-hazardous materials for collection, packing, and disposal. You will perform on-site chemical assessments, segregate wastes per regulatory and compatibility guidelines, and prepare detailed labels and manifests. Partner with field teams to ensure compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA standards while upholding our safety-first culture. This role supports critical environmental protection work and offers growth in analytical, regulatory, and industrial chemistry skills. Identify and classify hazardous and non-hazardous materials on client sites. Segregate, lab-pack, and prepare chemicals for transportation and disposal per regulations. Develop accurate labeling, inventories, and shipping documentation, including manifests. Conduct basic analytical tests to confirm waste characteristics and compatibility. Ensure strict adherence to EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Collaborate with field technicians and drivers to coordinate pickups and site activities. Maintain detailed records, logs, and chain-of-custody documentation. Inspect work areas and equipment, reporting and mitigating safety risks. Communicate procedures and findings to customers and internal stakeholders. Participate in ongoing training on chemical handling, PPE, and emergency response.
