Role Description:

INIRC is seeking independent peer reviewers to evaluate scholarly manuscripts related to nursing practice, clinical judgment, practice readiness, patient safety, education, leadership, and healthcare systems. This remote, project-based role involves assessing manuscripts for methodological rigor, clarity, relevance, ethical integrity, and contribution to nursing knowledge. Reviewers will complete structured electronic evaluations, provide objective and constructive feedback, identify potential conflicts of interest, maintain strict confidentiality, and protect all intellectual property. Review assignments and timelines will be mutually agreed upon. Reviewers must remain independent and unaffiliated with INIRC's Advisory Council.

Qualifications:

Graduate degree in nursing, healthcare, education, research, psychology, or a related field; doctoral degree preferred but not required Prior experience reviewing scholarly manuscripts, research proposals, dissertations, or articles for publication Knowledge of qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods research Ability to evaluate research design, methodology, analysis, interpretation, and scholarly writing Strong written communication, critical appraisal, and attention-to-detail skills Ability to provide impartial, respectful, evidence-based, and actionable feedback Commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and intellectual property protection Willingness to disclose actual or potential conflicts of interest Ability to complete electronic reviews within established timelines Clinical, academic, research, patient-safety, or healthcare leadership experience preferred
