Job Description

Overview Join our Clinical Research team as a Pulmonary Function Tech (PFT) and Clinical Research Coordinator, where you will play a vital role in advancing respiratory health through precise pulmonary testing and groundbreaking clinical research. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with research coordination, contributing to innovative studies that improve patient outcomes. You will be at the forefront of patient care and scientific discovery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while supporting the development of new therapies and diagnostic tools. Primary Requirement Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in pulmonary function testing (PFT)

If you don't have 1 year of PFT experience. Responsibilities Pulmonary Function Tech will have direct patient contact and participate in multiple administrative responsibilities while having the opportunity to work within a clinical research environment. Perform comprehensive pulmonary function tests (PFTs), including spirometry, lung volume measurements, diffusion capacity, and other specialized assessments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocol. Performs regular quality control of the Pulmonary Function testing equipment including calibrations, biological testing, and preventive maintenance. Monitor patients throughout testing procedures, providing clear instructions and ensuring their safety and comfort during assessments. Review and verify clinical documentation, including test results, patient records, and research data for completeness and accuracy. Assist in managing clinical research projects by coordinating participant recruitment, scheduling visits, and maintaining detailed study records in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, HIPAA privacy standards, and other healthcare compliance requirements. Manage patient recruitment, screening, and enrollment processes while providing exceptional support throughout their participation. Support data collection efforts by utilizing statistical software and CDISC standards for data management and analysis. Supervise junior staff or trainees involved in pulmonary testing or research activities, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on quality assurance. Required Qualifications Experience in healthcare setting with direct patient contact. Experience in conducting PFT is required. Minimum 1 year of related work experience required. Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications. Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Education Requirement High School Graduate. Bachelor of Science (Preferred) Foreign graduates are also welcome to apply. (Please note employer will not provide Visa or Sponsorship) Preferred Qualifications License Certified Pulmonary Function Tech. Working experience in pulmonologist office. Familiarity with electronic medical record "EPIC" systems for efficient data management. Background in nursing or related healthcare fields is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in data collection and reporting. Local candidates will be preferred.
