ABOUT CDMS CDMS
is a California Environmental, Health & Safety compliance firm with more than 35 years of experience. We help manufacturing, metal finishing, warehousing, and transportation companies meet Cal/OSHA, hazardous waste, air quality, stormwater, and CUPA requirements across the state. Join a collaborative team that makes a measurable difference for California businesses.
THE ROLE
We are seeking an EHS Project Manager with 5 to 10 years of environmental consulting experience for our Pleasanton, CA office, serving clients across the Bay Area. You will own client relationships and project delivery, scope new work, and partner with our proposals team to grow accounts. This role combines hands-on EHS expertise with project ownership and business growth.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own EHS projects from scope through delivery, keeping schedules and budgets on track while providing excellent client service. Scope new projects and define the work, deliverables, and level of effort for clients. Partner with the proposals team to prepare proposals and support business development for current and prospective clients. Develop health and safety programs for client companies. Prepare compliance reports and documentation to meet EPA, DTSC, local CUPA, Fire Department, Water Board, Air District, and other regulatory requirements. Assist clients with permitting and documentation (air quality, wastewater, tiered permitting, stormwater, and related programs). Conduct compliance audits and field monitoring (air monitoring, soil sampling, and similar). Deliver training for client employees, typically groups of 10 to 40. Serve as a technical resource to Environmental Specialists on regulatory and project questions. Provide ongoing compliance support to clients.
WHAT YOU BRING 5
to 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or a related field. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Master's degree a plus. Strong knowledge of California EH&S regulations, including Cal/OSHA, air quality, hazardous materials and waste, stormwater, and wastewater, with depth in at least one area. Excellent project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client presentations. Comfortable leading trainings for groups of 10 to 40 people. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and environmental compliance software. Valid California driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites across the Bay Area. Professional certifications (PE, CIH, CSP, CHMM, PG, or similar) are highly valued. Bilingual English and Spanish is an advantage.
WHY WORK WITH US
Advance your EHS career in a role that combines technical depth with project ownership and client leadership. Hybrid work arrangement available after an initial onboarding period. Collegial, supportive team that values quality work. Comprehensive benefits, including medical insurance, dental insurance, and a 401(k) plan (Roth and non-Roth options) with a generous company match and HSA. Paid time off starting at two weeks and increasing to three weeks with tenure. Professional development support, including continuing education and certifications.
