Job Description
This vacancy is for a GS-0028-9, Environmental Protection Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE
PORTSMOUTH FACILITIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -F
in PORTSMOUTH, Virginia.
Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS- 09 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Utlizing environmental regulations to support compliance monitoring, waste disposal protocols, and/or safety checks. Executing routine and non-routine environmental inspections to verify adherence to permit conditions and internal policies. Preparing and presenting comprehensive project reports, technical documentation, and internal memos on environmental compliance issues. Preparing and submitting routine environmental compliance reports to state and federal agencies (e.g., EPA, state DEQ), ensuring all deadlines and requirements were met. Reviewing and commenting on submittals prepared by groups to assure that environmental objectives are met. or Master's. or equivalent graduate level degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or JD., if related
